HTET 2025 Level 1 PRT Question Paper (5-Jul-2026)
The correct answer is

Water and minerals from root to aerial parts

Xylem is a complex vascular tissue made of tracheids and vessel elements that form continuous, dead, hollow tubes running from the roots up through the stem to the leaves and other aerial parts. It conducts water and dissolved mineral ions absorbed by the roots upward against gravity, driven mainly by transpiration pull, root pressure, and capillary action. Transport of manufactured organic food, in contrast, is the job of the phloem tissue, not xylem.
