World Polio Day is observed every year on October 24 to raise awareness about polio eradication. Which theme was selected for World Polio Day in 2025?
End Polio: Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere
World Polio Day is marked on 24 October, the birth anniversary of Jonas Salk, who led the team that developed the first effective (injectable) polio vaccine. It was established by Rotary International.
The 2025 observance carried the theme 'End Polio: Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere', stressing that every child must be reached with vaccines in every location until wild poliovirus (still endemic in Pakistan and Afghanistan) is eliminated.
India was certified polio-free by the WHO in 2014; its last wild polio case was reported in 2011.
Hence, the answer is End Polio: Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere.
