Who authored the work, 'The History of Sexuality'?
Michel Foucault
Michel Foucault authored The History of Sexuality, whose first volume (La Volonte de savoir) appeared in French in 1976, followed by further volumes on the uses of pleasure and the care of the self.
In it he challenged the repressive hypothesis and argued that modern societies produced an ever-expanding discourse on sex, linking sexuality with power, knowledge and the disciplining of bodies and populations.
Oscar Lewis wrote on the culture of poverty, W.F. Ogburn on cultural lag, and J. Williams is not associated with this work, so none of them can be the author.
Hence, the author of The History of Sexuality is Michel Foucault.
