Frequent cylinder head gasket failures and leaks

The guiding principle is that the cylinder head seals the top of the combustion chamber and must clamp evenly against the block so the head gasket can hold high pressure and temperature.

A poorly designed head has uneven stiffness, weak bolt-boss support or hot spots, so it distorts and cannot press uniformly on the gasket.
