When were Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted by the United Nations ?
2000
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were eight international development goals that grew out of the United Nations Millennium Declaration, adopted by world leaders at the Millennium Summit in New York in September 2000.
The eight goals were: eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and developing a global partnership for development. Most targets were measured against 1990 baselines and were to be met by 2015.
1990 is the baseline year for many MDG targets, not the year of adoption. 1995 is the year of the World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen, and 2010 is the year of a UN summit that reviewed progress on the MDGs. The goals themselves were adopted in 2000.
2000 option is correct.
