What is the target year for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals ?
2030
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 goals with 169 targets adopted by all UN member states in September 2015 as part of the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. They succeeded the Millennium Development Goals, whose deadline was 2015.
As the name of the agenda indicates, the SDGs are to be achieved by the year 2030. They cover ending poverty and hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water, clean energy, decent work, reduced inequalities, climate action, life below water and on land, peace and justice, and partnerships.
2020 and 2025 are interim milestones used for a few specific targets, not the overall deadline, and 2040 is not the target year of the SDG framework. The target year for the goals as a whole is 2030.
2030 option is correct.
