The correct answer is

To carry the male gametes to the ovule

After pollination, the pollen grain that lands on the stigma germinates and grows a pollen tube. This tube grows down through the style of the pistil until it reaches the ovary and enters an ovule.

The male gametes inside the pollen grain move down through this tube and are released into the ovule, where one of them fuses with the female gamete (egg) to bring about fertilisation. So the main job of the pollen tube is to deliver the male gametes to the ovule.

The pollen tube does not protect the flower from insects, it does not form the fruit wall (that develops from the ovary wall) and it does not produce nectar, which is secreted by nectaries in the flower.

Hence, To carry the male gametes to the ovule.
