Question

The volume of a solid hemisphere is \(\frac{396}{7} cm^3\). Find the total surface area of hemisphere

This question was previously asked in
SSC CPO 2025 Paper 1 Question Paper (9-Dec-2025) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is

\(84.85\ cm^2\)

Volume of a hemisphere \(= \frac{2}{3}\pi r^3\).

\(\frac{2}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times r^3 = \frac{396}{7} \Rightarrow r^3 = \frac{396 \times 3}{2 \times 22} = 27 \Rightarrow r = 3\) cm.

Total surface area of a solid hemisphere \(= 3\pi r^2\).

\(3 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 9 = \frac{594}{7} \approx 84.85\ cm^2\)

Hence, the total surface area of the hemisphere is 84.85 cm2.
