The value of \((-1.1)^5 \times (1.21)^{-2}\) is :

The correct answer is

-1.1

Note that \(1.21 = (1.1)^2\), so \((1.21)^{-2} = \left((1.1)^2\right)^{-2} = (1.1)^{-4}\).

Since the exponent 5 is odd, \((-1.1)^5 = -(1.1)^5\).

Multiplying, \((-1.1)^5 \times (1.21)^{-2} = -(1.1)^5 \times (1.1)^{-4} = -(1.1)^{5-4} = -(1.1)^1\).

Hence, \((-1.1)^5 \times (1.21)^{-2}\) is equal to -1.1.
