Force is defined by Newton's second law as the product of mass and acceleration: \(F = m \times a\).

Mass is measured in kilograms (kg) and acceleration in metres per second squared (m/s2).

Multiplying the units gives \(\text{kg} \times \text{m/s}^2 = \text{kg}\cdot\text{m/s}^2\), which is exactly one newton.

Hence, the newton is equivalent to kg⋅m/s2.
