Secondary education
The Mudaliar Commission is the Secondary Education Commission (1952-53), chaired by Dr. A. Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar, Vice-Chancellor of Madras University.
It recommended diversification of courses, multipurpose schools, a three-language approach, improvement of examinations and a reorganised secondary stage after the middle stage.
Higher education was reviewed by the University Education Commission (Radhakrishnan, 1948-49), while primary and early childhood education were not its subject.
