This is a linear-arrangement problem in which two people are described from opposite ends of a single row, and we must count how many students sit strictly between them.

Rahul is 13th from the left, so on a left-to-right scale his position number is simply \(13\).
Kajal is 25th from the right, and to place her on the same left-to-right scale we use position-from-left = total − position-from-right + 1, giving \(50 - 25 + 1 = 26\).
So on the common left-hand scale Rahul stands at seat 13 and Kajal at seat 26, both measured from the same end.
Since the two seats, 13 and 26, are counted the same way, the students strictly between them occupy seats 14 through 25.
