If Rs. 4200 is distributed among A, B, and C such that A ∶ B = 2 ∶ 3 and B ∶ C = 6 ∶ 5, then find the share of B.

The correct answer is

Given:

Total amount = 4200 rupees, ratio A ∶ B = 2 ∶ 3, ratio B ∶ C = 6 ∶ 5

Formula:

If A ∶ B = 2 ∶ 3 and B : C = 6 ∶ 5, then A ∶ B ∶ C = 12 ∶ 18 ∶ 15.

Solution:

⇒ Sum of the ratios = 12 + 18 + 15 = 45

⇒ B's share = (18/45) × 4200 = 1680 rupees

Therefore, B's share is 1680 rupees.
