The correct answer is

41.6 km/hr

The distance covered while going from Delhi to Chandigarh is 250 km, and the same distance of 250 km is covered again while returning to Delhi, so the total distance travelled is 250 km plus 250 km, which equals 500 km.

The time taken for the onward journey is 5 hours and the time taken for the return journey is 7 hours, so the total time taken is 5 hours plus 7 hours, which equals 12 hours.

Average speed is calculated as total distance divided by total time, so the average speed is 500 km divided by 12 hours.

Dividing 500 by 12 gives approximately 41.6 km/hr.

Hence, the average speed of the car for this journey is 41.6 km/hr.
