Question

Find the mode from the following table.

Class and Frequency Table

The following data shows the class and frequency distribution:

Class / वर्ग0-1010-2020-3030-40
Frequency / आवृत्ति15253020

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

23.33

The mode is determined using the formula for the modal class: Mode = L + [(f₁ - f₀) / (2f₁ - f₀ - f₂)] * h Where: - L is the lower boundary of the modal class, - f₁ is the frequency of the modal class, - f₀ is the frequency of the class before the modal class, - f₂ is the frequency of the class after the modal class, - h is the class width. From the table, the modal class is 20-30, and after substituting the values into the formula, we get the mode as 23.33. Therefore, option 2 is correct.
