TNPSC Group 2 2026 Prelims Question Paper (01-Nov-2026)
The correct answer is

3, 1, 4, 2

Each blank must take a word that fits both the grammar (verb form agreeing with the subject) and the sense of a person walking alone in the dark.

Blank 1: “a person ____ his feet” needs a singular verb that takes “feet” as object — “stamps” (3).

Blank 2: “and ____ if it is dark” needs a singular intransitive verb showing fear — “shudders” (1).

Blank 3: “His breath begins to ____” needs a base form describing breath — “gasp” (4).

Blank 4: “his eyes ____” needs a plural verb for eyes — “wink” (2).

The order is therefore 3, 1, 4, 2. Orders starting with 1 put “shudders his feet”, which makes no sense, and 3, 1, 2, 4 gives “breath begins to wink” and “eyes gasp”.

3, 1, 4, 2 option is correct.
