Each of P, Q, R, S, T, U and V has an exam on a different day of the same week starting from Monday and ending on Sunday. R has an exam on Thursday. Only two people have an exam between V and R. Only three people have an exam between U and V. T has an exam after U but before S. Q has an exam immediately before P but not on Monday. How many people have an exam between V and P?

This question was previously asked in
RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (9-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

One

Days: Monday (1) to Sunday (7).

1. R has an exam on Thursday (4).

2. Only two people have an exam between V and R, so V is on Monday (1) or Sunday (7).

3. Only three people have an exam between U and V: if V = Monday then U = Friday (5); if V = Sunday then U = Wednesday (3).

4. Case V = Sunday, U = Wednesday: T is after U and before S, so T = Friday and S = Saturday. Monday and Tuesday are left for P and Q, which forces Q on Monday — but Q is not on Monday. This case is rejected.

5. Case V = Monday, U = Friday: T = Saturday and S = Sunday. Tuesday and Wednesday are left; Q is immediately before P, so Q = Tuesday and P = Wednesday.

Final schedule: Monday – V, Tuesday – Q, Wednesday – P, Thursday – R, Friday – U, Saturday – T, Sunday – S.

Between V (Monday) and P (Wednesday) there is only Q.

Hence, the answer is One.
