D, F, G, H, J, K and L are sitting around a circular table facing the centre.

Only three people sit between L and D when counted from the right of D. K and F are immediate neighbours of D. G sits immediately to the right of H. K is not an immediate neighbour of J.

How many people sit between G and J when counted from the left of G?

The correct answer is

4

Fix D at a seat and move clockwise, treating "right of D" as the clockwise direction around the circle.

Three people sit between D and L on that side, so L is the 4th seat clockwise from D.

K and F are the immediate neighbours of D, occupying the seats just before and just after D.

The remaining three seats (between the L-side neighbour of D and L, and between L and the other neighbour of D) must hold H, G and J, with G immediately to the right of H (i.e. clockwise of H).

The only placement that keeps G clockwise-adjacent to H puts H and G in the two seats between D's clockwise neighbour and L, leaving J in the single seat on the other side of L.

Since J then sits next to L, the neighbour of D on that side must be F (not K), which satisfies the condition that K is not next to J. So going clockwise: D, K, H, G, L, J, F.

Counting from the left of G (anticlockwise), the people between G and J are H, K, D and F, i.e. 4 people.

Hence, 4 people sit between G and J when counted from the left of G.
