The correct answer is
20%

Calculating Profit Percentage on Cricket Bats

Here's how to determine the profit percentage:

  • Let the Cost Price (CP) of one cricket bat be $C$.
  • The shop sells 20 cricket bats. The total cost price for these 20 bats is $20 \times C$.
  • The profit earned is stated as the cost price of 4 cricket bats. So, Profit = $4 \times C$.
  • The formula for Profit Percentage is: $ \text{Profit \%} = \frac{\text{Profit}}{\text{Total Cost Price}} \times 100 $
  • Substitute the values: $ \text{Profit \%} = \frac{4 \times C}{20 \times C} \times 100 $
  • Simplify the expression: $ \text{Profit \%} = \frac{4}{20} \times 100 $ $ \text{Profit \%} = \frac{1}{5} \times 100 $ $ \text{Profit \%} = 20\% $

The profit percentage is 20%.
