The correct answer is

2.5%

Mass percent (w/w) is given by \(\frac{\text{mass of solute}}{\text{mass of solution}} \times 100\).

Total mass of solution \(= 15 + 585 = 600\ \text{g}\).

Mass percent \(= \frac{15}{600} \times 100 = 2.5\%\).

Hence, the mass percent of the solution is \(2.5\%\).
