RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (9-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

A

Let the marked price of one toy be 100. For scheme A, successive discounts of 3% and 7% give an effective price of 100 × 0.97 × 0.93 = 90.21, which is only about a 9.79% discount per toy.

For scheme B, successive discounts of 8%, 39% and 26% give 100 × 0.92 × 0.61 × 0.74 ≈ 41.53, i.e. a huge 58.47% discount per toy.

For scheme C, 4 toys at 11% discount and 1 toy at 32% discount cost (4 × 89) + (1 × 68) = 424 for 5 toys, which is a 15.2% effective discount. For scheme D, buying 5 toys brings 4 extra toys free, giving 9 toys for the price of 5, equivalent to about a 44.4% discount.

Hence, the correct answer is A.
