Question

A man has invested ₹58000 at a rate of 6% per annum simple interest for 2 years. Find the amount (in ₹) that he will receive after 2 years.

This question was previously asked in
RRB Technician 2026 Grade 3 Question Paper (6-Oct-2026) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is

64960

Simple interest SI = \(\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}\), and the amount received = P + SI.

SI = \(\frac{58000 \times 6 \times 2}{100} = 6960\).

Amount = 58000 + 6960 = 64960.

Check: at 6% per year the money grows by 12% in 2 years, and 58000 × 1.12 = 64960.

Hence, 64960.
