The OPSC Exam Pattern is divided into three stages including:

  • OPSC Prelims Exam
  • OPSC Main Exam
  • Interview

OPSC Syllabus For CSE Preliminary Exam

The nature of the OPSC CSE Preliminary exam is qualifying. Giving OPSC Prelims exam is mandatory and candidates who cleared this exam get eligible to write the Main exam. The commission decides the qualifying marks in the Preliminary exam. However, the marks obtained in this exam will not be considered for the ranking.

The Prelims exam has two papers and the mode of the questions will be MCQ. The entire duration of the Prelims exam is 4 hours; 2 hours is allocated for each paper. Detailed syllabus for OPSC CSE prelims is mentioned below:

  • Social and Economic Development, Poverty in India, Inclusion, Demography, Social Sector Initiative, etc.
  • India history and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and global Geography, topics like Physical, Economic, Social, Geography of India and the World
  • Indian Constitution, Political System in the country, what is Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Issues, etc.
  • Issues related to Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity in-country, Climate Changes
  • General Science

OPSC Syllabus For CSE Main Exam

Candidates qualifying prelims will get a chance to write the Main Exam. The mains section includes compulsory papers and optional papers, candidates have to attempt 5 compulsory papers (including Odia Language, English, English Essay, General Studies I & II) while in optional papers, two subjects need to be selected from the list of the optional subjects.

Each subject will include two papers. The entire course content of the OPSC CSE Main Exam is extensive and candidates need to prepare extensively to get a good score in the mains.
