NTSE 2020 Registration will begin in August 2020. Candidates can fill the application form offline after downloading it from the official website. They can also access their application form from the office of Liaison Officer. Download Application Form

Application fee may apply for Stage I as per state policies. It must be confirmed while collecting the form. There is no application fee for Stage II. The fee has to be paid in the offline mode only, the details of which have been further mentioned in the article along with other important details related to registration.

Upon successful registration, candidates will be able to avail their admit card. Candidates must submit their NTSE Application Form after filling all the details and get it signed by the Principal. They can post the application form to the Liaison officer. Minimum eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by candidates applying for NTSE. Applicants must not be more than 18 years as on July 1, 2019.

Applicants must fill all the information carefully and check it before submitting the application form. No corrections are allowed after submission.

NTSE 2020 Application Dates

NTSE 2020 Registration Dates are different for various states. Generally, NTSE 2020 Application Form is made available in the month of August every year. Many states have already released the application form as shown in the above table. NTSE 2020 Stage-1 Exam was conducted on November 2, 3 and 17, 2019 and Stage 2 will take place on May 10, 2020. Candidates can check the important dates for NTSE 2020:

NTSE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. A candidate who does not satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be considered for the admission process. Given below is the eligibility criteria set by NSTSS for school and graduation students.

NTSE Eligibility for school students:

  • Student must be appearing for class 10 examination from a recognized school.
  • Students who have applied for class 10 through open learning can appear for the NTSE exam.
  • Age must be less than 18 years.
  • All standards from class 1 to class 10 must be cleared.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria for graduation students:

  • Student must be appearing for class XII from a recognized school.
  • Class 11 examination must have been cleared without backlogs.
  • No backlogs in class 12 examination final results declared by CBSE or state boards.
  • Class 10 examinations must have been cleared with a minimum of 60 percent marks.
  • No age limit is defined.

How to Fill NTSE 2020 Application Form?

Candidates can fill the Application form offline after downloading it from the official website. Candidates can also access their Application form from the office of Liaison Officer.

After filling all details in Application Form candidates can submit the same via post to the address of State Liaison Officer. Candidates can also submit the application form by visiting themselves at the address of liaison officer. Given below are the steps candidates can follow to fill application form

Step 1: Registration and Downloading Application Form

  1. Visit the official website of NTSE,
  2. Click on link ‘Apply for NTSE 2020’
  3. Candidates have to fill the following credentials:
  • Candidates Name
  • Date of birth
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID
  • Educational Qualification etc.
  1. After filling all the credentials click on ‘submit’
  2. Download the NTSE Application Form
  3. Candidates can also get their Application Form from the office of Liaison Officers

Step 2: Filling Details in NTSE Application form

Candidates have to fill the following details in the application form in their own handwriting:

  • Basic details, Category, Address and Educational details, etc.
  • Candidates have to affix their photograph and signature in the provided space.

Step 3: Candidates have to attest NTSE 2020 Application Form from their Principal.

Step 4: Application fee as specified by the state/UT needs to be remitted by the candidates.

Step 5: Candidates can submit their Application Form in the Liaison Office via post or visiting the address of liaison officer.

Documents to Be Attached with NTSE Form

Following is the list of documents that candidates must possess at the time of application form filling.

  • Colored photograph not older than 6 months from the date of form filling.
  • Dark background.
  • No goggles only simple spectacles.
  • No makeup in the photograph clicked for the form.
  • Hair must be properly tied.
  • Photograph must be clicked in school uniform.
  • Indian nationals do not have to produce any document with the application form.
  • Students of Indian origin who are doing class 10 from abroad, have to prove their Indian citizenship, so they have to attach a copy of class 11 mark s

Ques. Where will I get the application form?

Ans. NTSE 2020 Application Form will be available on the official website of NCERT ( Candidates can also obtain the application form from the State/UT Liaison officer.

Ques. Why should I apply for NTSE?

Ans. Candidates apply for NTSE to get scholarship for higher studies. The primary objective of NCERT to conduct this examination is to identify intelligent students with high academic talent and help them succeed by providing scholarship.

Ques. I belong to OBC category. Can I apply?

Ans. Yes. You can apply. However, candidates are advised to refer the application form for caste category reservation. Some options of category such as OBC given in the application form are applicable only for the respective State/UT.

Ques. Is my photograph needed while filling the application form?

Ans. Yes. You have to paste a recent passport size photograph of yours in the space provided in the application form.

Ques. When is the deadline for application form submission?

Ans. The last date for submitting NTSE 2020 Application Form varies from state to state. Candidates will be notified about the deadline by the respective State/UT.

Can we apply for ntse exam in online or pffline

Hey Yaswanth,

You can apply for NTSE either Online or Offline as per your convenience. To apply online, please go to the official website of NCERT and then click on Apply online for NTSE. To fill the form Offline, you can contact your school authorities for the form and then post the form to the state liaison officer after filling up the correct details.

You can find the registration form on the official website of NTSE under the ‘Apply Online’ section. The deadline of registration, however,  for NTSE 2020 has crossed and you can not submit the form anymore.

Some of the important topics for the NTSE exam include Algebraic Expressions, Arithmetic, Basic Geometry, Circles, Coordinate Geometry, etc. ( in maths)  while some of the important topics in science include Acid Bases and Salts, Air, Carbon and its Compound, Cellular Level of Organization, etc. For detailed syllabus refer here.
