CAT 2025 result is declared by IIM Kozhikode at iimcat.ac.in. It confirms scaled scores and percentiles for the 2.58 lakh candidates who sat for CAT on 30 November 2025. IIM Kozhikode released it on 24 December 2025, earlier than the 6 PM slot originally announced a day before. Twelve candidates scored a perfect 100 percentile this cycle, nine of them with an engineering background.
CAT 2025 result carries a few numbers every candidate checks first. The table below lines them up before the sections that follow go into each in more depth.

CAT 2025 result arrived 24 days after the exam itself. IIM Kozhikode had announced the evening before that the result would go live at 6 PM, then released it earlier than that.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| CAT 2025 Exam | 30 November 2025 |
| Final Answer Key | 17 December 2025 |
| Result Date Announced | 23 December 2025, for 6 PM the next day |
| Result Actually Released | 24 December 2025, around 3:30 PM |
CAT 2025 result sits behind a login, not a public roll-number page. A candidate needs their own credentials ready before checking it.
This same login was used earlier for the admit card and the answer key, so no fresh registration is needed to view the result.
CAT 2025 scorecard carries more than a single number. Each field on it feeds directly into how an IIM shortlists a candidate.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Candidate Details | Name, registration number and category |
| Sectional Scaled Scores | Scaled score for VARC, DILR and QA individually |
| Combined Scaled Score | Scaled score combined across all three sections |
| Sectional Percentile | Percentile for each section on its own |
| Combined Percentile | Percentile across the full test |
CAT 2025 never reports the plain number of marks a candidate scored out of the total. A scaled score and a percentile stand in for it instead, and most first-time candidates find this the hardest part of the scorecard to read.
| Term | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Raw Score | Marks straight from the answer key, not shown on the scorecard at all |
| Scaled Score | The raw score adjusted for how hard that candidate's specific session was |
| Percentile | The share of all candidates a scaled score outperforms, shown section wise and for the full test |
CAT 2025 produced twelve candidates with a perfect 100 percentile score, a small enough group that each one gets tracked individually every year. Reported figures put nine of the twelve from an engineering background, with Delhi home to more 100 percentile scorers than any other state.
CAT 2025 ran in 3 sessions on the same day, each with its own test form. A score from one session cannot be compared directly against a score from another without adjusting for that difference first.
CAT 2025 cutoff is not one number that applies everywhere. Each IIM sets its own combined and sectional cutoff percentile, and these change by category and programme too. A dedicated CAT cutoff page carries the full IIM wise figures. This page only confirms that clearing a personal percentile is a separate matter from clearing a specific IIM's cutoff.
CAT 2025 treats the scorecard as final from the moment it is released. IIM Kozhikode does not run a request process for a second look at a declared score.
CAT 2025 percentile is only the first filter in a longer selection process. Clearing an IIM's cutoff opens the door to further rounds, not a seat by itself.
A handful of extra details from this cycle are easy to miss but matter once the scorecard is in hand.
CAT 2025 result comes from IIM Kozhikode this cycle, but that is not a fixed arrangement. A different IIM takes charge of the entire exam, including the result, on a rotating basis year to year. The declaring institute changes even though the exam itself stays one common test.
CAT 2025's gap between exam day and result lines up closely with the cycle before it. The table below sets both cycles side by side.
| Cycle | Exam Date | Result Declared | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| CAT 2024 | 24 November 2024 | 21 December 2024 | About 27 days |
| CAT 2025 | 30 November 2025 | 24 December 2025 | About 24 days |
Candidates often use these three words as if they mean one single thing for CAT 2025. Each actually refers to something distinct in the process.
| Term | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Result | The full declaration event covering every candidate who appeared |
| Scorecard | The individual document showing one candidate's own scaled score and percentile |
| Merit List | The ranked list an individual IIM builds from CAT percentile plus its own criteria |
CAT 2025 drew fewer candidates than the cycle before it, a shift worth knowing before comparing this year's percentile to an earlier one.
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| CAT 2025 Candidates Appeared | Around 2.58 lakh |
| Change From CAT 2024 | About 35,000 fewer candidates |
| Test Centres | 339 centres across 170 cities |
CAT 2025 result stage is now complete, with scaled scores, percentiles and the 100 percentile list all confirmed. The next real decision point for most candidates is each IIM's own cutoff and shortlist call, not anything left to check on the scorecard itself.

Ques: Does CAT 2025 scorecard show an All India Rank the way some other exams do?
Ans: No. CAT reports a percentile instead of a rank number. Individual IIMs convert that percentile into their own shortlist and rank internally, but CAT itself does not publish a rank.
Ques: Can a candidate check CAT 2025 result using only their registration number, without the password?
Ans: No. Login needs CAT User ID and password together. The registration number alone will not open the scorecard.
Ques: If a candidate's CAT 2025 percentile is below every IIM's cutoff, is the scorecard still useful anywhere?
Ans: Yes. Many non-IIM business schools and other management institutes accept CAT percentile directly, so a scorecard below IIM cutoffs can still be used for those applications.
Ques: Does a 100 percentile in CAT 2025 guarantee a seat at an IIM?
Ans: No. A 100 percentile only clears the first filter. Final selection still depends on the Written Ability Test, the interview, academic record and work experience at each IIM.
Ques: Why do two candidates with the same raw marks end up with different CAT 2025 percentiles?
Ans: This usually happens when they sat different sessions. Normalisation adjusts each session's scores separately before percentile is calculated. Identical raw marks in an easier session can land a lower percentile than the same marks in a harder one.
