JEE Main 2027 Academic Requirements

- Final exam of the 10+2 system conducted by recognised Central or State Boards (CBSE, CISCE, etc.)

- Final exam of the 2-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy
- Senior Secondary School exam conducted by NIOS with a minimum of 5 subjects
- Any public school/board/university exam in India or abroad recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
- Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational exam
- Diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration
- GCE (Advanced Level) exam conducted by Cambridge/London/Sri Lanka
- High School Certificate exam of Cambridge University
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva

JEE Main 2027 Attempts Criteria

- Sessions Per Year: There are 2 sessions for JEE Main every year (usually in January & April). Candidates can attempt both sessions in the same year if they choose.
- Eligible number of years: Candidates can take JEE Main exam for up to 3 consecutive years, starting from the year they pass their Class 12th.
- Total Attempts Eligible: A candidate can give as many JEE Main exam sessions as they choose (in 3 consecutive years). The best scores out of your attempts are considered.
JEE Main 2027 Year of Appearance
Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2026 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2026. However, candidates who passed Class 12 in 2023 or earlier are not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2026.
Important Notes:
- The Class 12 passing year refers to the year in which the result is officially declared, and the candidate is marked “Pass” for the first time.
- If a candidate passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 2023 and later cleared Mathematics in 2024, the passing year will still be considered as 2023.
- Candidates appearing for Class 12 in 2026 must provide their Roll Number, Registration Number, Enrollment Number, or other required details in the specified fields while completing the JEE Main 2026 application form.
