NTA has released the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin containing the application schedule for both sessions. Candidates should complete their registration and fee payment within the specified dates to avoid last-minute problems.

JEE Main 2027 Registration Dates for Session 1 and Session 2

JEE Main 2027 has separate application windows for January and April sessions. Candidates registering for Session 1 can use the same application number to apply for Session 2 during its registration period.

Note: The last date for regular registration, fee payment, late registration and application correction is up to 11:50 PM on the applicable closing date. Candidates who miss the regular application deadline can register during the notified late-fee period.

JEE Main 2027 Application Fee for General, OBC, EWS, SC and ST

JEE Main 2027 application fees vary according to the candidate's category, gender, number of papers and examination centre location. NTA has prescribed separate fees for candidates appearing at centres in India and outside India.

JEE Main 2027 Registration Fees for a Single Paper

The above fee applies when candidates select only Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch) or Paper 2B (B.Planning).

JEE Main 2027 Application Fee for Multiple Papers

These fees apply to the permitted multiple-paper combinations, including Paper 1 with Paper 2A, Paper 1 with Paper 2B, Paper 2A with Paper 2B, or all three papers. Payment gateway processing charges and applicable GST are additional.

Late Fee: Candidates registering during the late application window must pay Rs 500 over and above their applicable examination fee. The additional late fee is the same for every category.

How to Fill JEE Main 2027 Application Form Online?

JEE Main 2027 registration involves creating an account, completing the online form, uploading documents and paying the examination fee. Candidates should keep their academic records and identity details ready before starting the application.

2. Step 2: Open the JEE Main 2027 registration link and complete the registration process.
3. Step 3: Enter the required personal details and create a password.
4. Step 4: Note the system-generated application number for future logins.
5. Step 5: Log in and enter your personal, contact, address and educational qualification details.
6. Step 6: Select the examination paper and available examination city preferences.
7. Step 7: Upload the scanned photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate or marksheet and other applicable documents.
8. Step 8: Complete the mandatory live photograph capture using a webcam or supported mobile device.

JEE Main 2027 Live Photograph Capture Requirements

JEE Main 2027 application process requires candidates to capture a live photograph in addition to uploading a scanned passport-size photograph. This step helps NTA verify candidate identity during the examination process.

• Use a webcam or device camera while filling out the application form.
• Candidates without a webcam can use the provided QR code to complete the capture through a mobile device or tablet.
• Ensure adequate lighting and a plain white background.
• The face should occupy approximately 80% of the photograph, including the ears.
• Do not wear a mask or anything that obstructs the face.
• Upload a separate recent colour passport-size photograph in JPG/JPEG format.

Candidates are advised to update their Aadhaar details, including name, photograph, gender and date of birth, before applying. NTA may verify the uploaded photograph and other information during registration or examination.

Candidates must upload the required documents in the formats specified by NTA. Incorrect file types, unclear scans or oversized documents may prevent successful completion of the application form.

Important: Uploading the Class 10 certificate or marksheet is required for JEE Main 2027 registration. Candidates should ensure their name and date of birth match their official documents. Applicable disability documents must also be uploaded in the prescribed format.

JEE Main 2027 Application Form Correction Window

NTA will provide a one-time correction facility after the regular and late registration windows. Candidates can edit only those details specifically permitted by NTA during the correction period.

How to Correct JEE Main 2027 Application Form?

1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in during the correction window.
2. Log in using the application number and password.
3. Open the application correction facility.
4. Edit the fields permitted by NTA.
5. Review the corrected details and complete any applicable payment.
6. Submit the corrections and save the updated confirmation.

Note: NTA has not provided a final field-wise list of editable details in the Information Bulletin. The permitted fields will be announced when the correction facility opens. Candidates who have already registered for both sessions cannot change their PwD/PwBD sub-category details during the Session 2 correction window.

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 and Session 2 Registration Rules

JEE Main 2027 allows candidates to appear in either one session or both sessions. Candidates who have registered for January 2027 can apply for the April session separately using their existing application number.

• Only Session 1: Candidates can register during the October–November 2026 application window.
• Only Session 2: Candidates can register when the April session application window opens in January 2027.
• Both Sessions: Candidates can apply for Session 1 and subsequently register for Session 2 using the same application number.
• Separate Fee: Examination fees must be paid separately for each session.
• Best Score: If a candidate appears in both sessions, the higher total NTA score will be considered for final ranking.

Candidates should not create another application number when registering for Session 2 if they have already applied for Session 1. The same application credentials must be used for both sessions.

JEE Main 2027 Exam City Selection During Registration

Candidates can select a maximum of four examination cities while completing the JEE Main 2027 application form. NTA will attempt to allot centres according to the preferences submitted by candidates, subject to availability.

• Choose up to four examination cities in order of preference.
• Available cities are generally linked to the candidate's present or permanent address state.
• Where fewer than four cities are available, additional options from other states may be offered.
• Candidates with a present or permanent address outside India must select at least one examination city in India.
• NTA may allot a different city due to administrative or logistical requirements.

Candidates should select examination cities carefully because the final centre and shift allotted by NTA cannot be changed on request.

What to Do If JEE Main 2027 Fee Payment Fails?

The JEE Main 2027 application is considered successfully submitted only after NTA receives the examination fee and generates the confirmation page. Candidates should check the payment status if the confirmation page is not available.

• Check whether the payment amount has been deducted from the bank account.
• Contact the concerned bank or payment gateway to verify the transaction.
• If the payment failed, complete a fresh payment before the deadline.
• If the payment succeeded but the confirmation page is missing, contact the NTA helpdesk.
• Keep transaction receipts and payment reference details for verification.

NTA has specified that verified failed or duplicate transactions will be handled through its refund procedure. However, a successfully paid application fee is generally non-refundable.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in JEE Main 2027 Application Form

Incorrect details or missing documents can create problems during admit card issuance and admission verification. Candidates should review the following points before submitting the form.

• Do not enter a name or date of birth that differs from the Class 10 certificate.
