AAT is a separate B.Arch entrance test is conducted after JEE Advanced and does not affect the main ranking.
JEE Advanced 2025 was conducted in CBT mode, with both Paper 1 and Paper 2 being compulsory and are conducted on the same day in two separate shifts. There is a 2.5-hour gap between both sessions. Each paper includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and appearing for both papers is mandatory for ranking
| Paper | Timing | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Paper 1 | Morning Shift: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM | 3 Hours |
| Paper 2 | Afternoon Shift: 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM | 3 Hours |
JEE Advanced 2025 is conducted in a computer-based mode and consists of two compulsory papers held on the same day. Both papers are mandatory and include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

JEE Advanced follows an evenly balanced structure across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with no fixed chapter-wise weightage but a consistent subject-level distribution.
| Subject | Approx. Weightage | Major Topics |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | 33% | Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Optics, Modern Physics |
| Chemistry | 33% | Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Coordination Compounds |
| Mathematics | 33% | Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors & 3D, Probability |
No single subject dominates the paper; balance is maintained across both papers.
JEE Advanced 2025 paper analysis concludes the exam to be moderately difficult, with 2025 question trends, and subject balance across both papers. JEE Advanced consists of Two compulsory papers: Paper 1 & Paper 2
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Overall Difficulty | Moderate |
| Exam Pattern | Same as last year; 48 questions (Physics 16, Chemistry 16, Mathematics 16) |
| Subject-wise Difficulty | Maths: Moderate, Physics:ModerateChemistry: Easy |
| Pattern Changes | No changes |

JEE Advanced focuses on deep conceptual understanding rather than fixed chapter-wise marks distribution. However, based on recent cycle trends, some topics consistently carry higher importance across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
| Subject | High-Weight Topics | Trend Insight |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | Mechanics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics | Mechanics and Electromagnetism dominate most questions |
| Chemistry | Physical Chemistry, Organic Reaction Mechanisms, Coordination Compounds, Chemical Bonding | Physical + Organic carry slightly higher weight than Inorganic |
| Mathematics | Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors & 3D, Probability | Calculus remains the most dominant scoring area |
JEE Advanced 2025 repeated topics reflect long-term exam behavior and conceptual importance. These topics often appear in different formats every year.
Repeated themes show that depth matters more than memorization.
JEE Advanced 2025 cut-off trends indicate competitive scoring patterns influenced by paper difficulty and candidate performance. Admission trends reflect branch demand across IITs.
| Category | Trend |
|---|---|
| General | High competition for top IIT branches |
| OBC-NCL | Moderate variation across institutes |
| SC/ST | Wider admission range due to reservation policy |
Cut-offs shift based on difficulty level and seat availability across IITs.
JEE Advanced 2025 toppers’ experience highlights time management and accuracy control as key success factors. Most high scorers focused on selective question solving instead of attempting everything.
Rajit Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone secured AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2025, scoring 332 out of 360 marks, showing a consistently strong performance across both papers.
On the other hand, Devdutta Majhi from the IIT Kharagpur zone emerged as the top female candidate, securing AIR 16 with 312 marks, marking a standout performance among female aspirants nationwide.
JEE Advanced preparation insights from top performers show structured revision and concept clarity as core strategies.
Rajit Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone secured AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2025, scoring 332 out of 360 marks emphasis that in JEE advanced preparation is less about volume and more about precision.
Beyond the basics, consistent practice under timed conditions shaped final results.
JEE Advanced CAP strategy focuses on branch selection based on rank, interest, and long-term career direction. Choice filling is a critical step in the final IIT allocation.
A clear preference list improves seat allocation outcomes significantly.
Ques: Is there a time limit for each part of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics test that is three hours long?
Ans: No you can use the three hours however you want for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There are no rules about how much time you have to spend on each subject.
Ques: Are the questions and marks the same for Paper 1 and Paper 2?
Ans: Not always. Even if Paper 1 and Paper 2 have the same number of questions, the types of questions can be different. For example, Paper 1 might have one type of question and Paper 2 might have another type. This is because JEE Advanced wants to see if you can adapt to different types of questions.
Ques: What happens when you answer a question with correct options, like Multiple Choice Questions?
Ans: If a question has three answers and you choose two of them, you will get some marks for the correct answers you chose. This is called Partial Marking for Multiple Choice Questions.
Ques: Do you lose marks for answers in Numerical Value questions?
Ans: Usually, you do not lose marks for answers in Numerical Value questions. You should always read the instructions on the screen because the rules can change.
Ques: What if you signed up for the test in a language like Hindi instead of English?
Ans: You can change the language during the test. There is a menu in the right corner of the screen that lets you change the language for a specific question. You can switch between languages whenever you want.
