IBPS SO Eligibility

Applicants must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility requirements before applying for the recruitment exam. The various criteria are as stated below:

IBPS SO Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India
  • A resident of Bhutan or Nepal
  • A refugee from Tibet, who has migrated and intends to stay in India permanently.
  • People of Indian origin who have migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar and East African countries with the intention of settling in India permanently.

Note: All the candidates apart from those who are citizens of India must have proper documents signed by the Government of India permitting them to take the exam.

IBPS SO Educational Qualification Requirements

Academic qualification for various posts is as given below:

IT Officer (Scale I)

  • Candidates should have an engineering or technology Degree in Computer Science/ Applications, IT, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, Electronics & Communication or Electronics & Instrumentation; Or
  • Aspirants having a PG degree in the following fields are also eligible; Or
  • A graduate who has passed DOEACC ‘B’ level can also apply for IBPS SO 2021

Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I)

  • Aspirants should have a 4-year degree (graduation) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering or any other related field to apply for this post.

Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I)

  • Individuals having a PG degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the graduation level or a PG degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the graduation level are Eligible for IBPS SO 2021.

Law Officer (Scale I)

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) and should be enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council.

HR/ Personnel Officer (Scale I)

  • A graduate with 2-years full-time PG degree or diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, HR, HRD, Social Work or Labor Law can apply for this post.

Marketing Officer (Scale I)

  • Aspirants should have a 2-year full-time degree in MMS (Marketing), MBA (Marketing), PGDBA, PGDBM, PGPM or PGDM with specialization in Marketing.

IBPS SO Age Limit

  • The age of the applicant must range from anywhere between 20 to 30 years as on November 26, 2021.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be applicable as per category and is given in the table below:

Note: All the candidates applying for reservation must have the supporting documents and certificates as evidence of their status to be eligible for recruitment under the reserved categories. In case of failure to produce the required document, the candidate will be considered under the General category.

Ans: No, there is no limit to the number of attempts for IBPS SO.

Ques: What documents does a candidate from Bhutan need to be eligible for IBPS SO?

Ans: Apart from the personal and educational documents generally required, a candidate from Bhutan will need an authorization letter from the Government of India in order to be eligible for IBPS SO.

Ques: Do I need any working experience for IBPS SO?

Ans: For the posts of scale-1 officers, experience is not required. However, if you have an experience you will definitely get a preference.

Ques: Can I apply for IBPS SO in my final year of graduation?

Ans: Yes, you can apply for IBPS SO in your final year of graduation. However, you must be able to produce your graduation result and certificate at the time of document verification.
