The GPSC or Gujarat Public Service Commission is the government body responsible for the recruitment of government officials. GPSC 2021 Mains Exam Pattern

The GPSC 2021 mains exam will have 6 papers. All the papers would be descriptive. Only candidates who have cleared the prelims exam will be able to attempt the Mains Exam. Once the mains exam is cleared, there will be a personality test, and the candidate will be evaluated on the aggregate score of their performance on all these exams.

  • The essay questions in English and Gujarati paper will each carry 20 marks, for which the candidate will have to write 250-300 word essays in the respective language.
  • The grammar questions in both Gujarati and English will be of 20 marks, with each sub-questions worth 2 marks each.
  • The rest of the questions in English and Gujarati Paper will be 10 marks each.
  • For the Essay paper, candidates will have to attempt three essays; one from each section in 800 words.
  • The essays will be evaluated based on the clarity of thought, the information presented, arguments, grammar, awareness, and format.
  • For the General Studies Papers, there will be 15 questions each worth 10 marks.
  • Each answer will have a word limit of 200 words.

Ques. WIll there be negative marking in GPSC?

Ans. No, there will be no negative marking for any of the papers in GPSC. The objective type questions will all carry a weightage of 1 mark each for the prelims, and there will be a total of 200 questions in both general studies I and general studies II.
