Delhi Police Constable examination is a four-stage process. It starts with the preliminary examination, where the aptitude and the knowledge of the candidate get tested. Based on the marks attained in the examination, it is decided whether he or she qualifies for the next round or not. The governing authority sets cut-offs; any candidate who successfully gets above these cut-offs qualify for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test, also known as PE and MT.
The Delhi Police has a recruiting cell popularly known as Staff and Selection Commission, the acronym for which is SSC. The section is responsible for hiring the correct candidate for the right position. Based on the vacancies available, the cell rolls out the application for admissions every year. In the year 2020, the Delhi Poice has 5846 vacancies in the Constable category. Aspiring candidates whose age lies in the range of 18 to 25 years can apply for the Delhi Police Recruitment examination. Certain relaxations are granted to the candidates belonging to ST/SC/PH category under these criteria.

The examination conducted is a written based examination which is of 100 marks. The paper has four sections in total. The four areas are General Knowledge, Mathematics, Computers, and Reasoning.
