Delhi Police Constable Application and Registration 2021

Delhi Police Constable examination is a four-stage process. It starts with the preliminary examination, where the aptitude and the knowledge of the candidate get tested. Based on the marks attained in the examination, it is decided whether he or she qualifies for the next round or not. The governing authority sets cut-offs; any candidate who successfully gets above these cut-offs qualify for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test, also known as PE and MT.

The Delhi Police has a recruiting cell popularly known as Staff and Selection Commission, the acronym for which is SSC. The section is responsible for hiring the correct candidate for the right position. Based on the vacancies available, the cell rolls out the application for admissions every year. In the year 2020, the Delhi Poice has 5846 vacancies in the Constable category. Aspiring candidates whose age lies in the range of 18 to 25 years can apply for the Delhi Police Recruitment examination. Certain relaxations are granted to the candidates belonging to ST/SC/PH category under these criteria.

Salient Features of the examination that every aspiring candidate should be aware of:

  • The application for this examination is accepted only through the online mode.
  • The computer-based examination is conducted in English and Hindi language only.
  • Candidates applying must be citizens of India.
  • Physical Endurance and Measurement Test are qualifying in nature and is conducted by the Delhi Police.
  • Collection and verification of eligibility documents are also scheduled and conducted by the Delhi Police.
  • Applications are for male and female candidates, both of who aspire to be a part of Delhi Police. Candidates, irrespective of the state they belong to, can apply for the vacancies.

DP Application Process

How to Apply Online?

The steps mentioned below are a set of instructions that one must follow while applying online. The instructions are:

  • Select the Direct Link provided on the SSC website or the Delhi Police official website.
  • Complete the registration procedure by entering a valid e-mail id and a valid mobile number. Any information issued by the institute shall be communicated using these registered contact details.
  • Candidates must remember their registration number and the password attached to it. This information shall be used as their login credentials throughout.
  • Candidates should carefully fill in the asked information in the application form, and the documents requested to upload.
  • Payment of application fee. An application fee of Rs 100 is to be paid by the candidates who belong to the General/OBC category. In contrast, candidates who belong to ST/SC/PH/ Ex-Servicemen/ Female category are exempted from paying the application fee.
  • Submission of the application form.
  • Candidates must take multiple hard copies of the submitted application form as it might come into use at different time intervals.

Documents Required

The list mentioned below tells about the documents required for submission during the application of the online form. Candidates must stay ready with the below-mentioned list and present them during the time of verification.

  • A coloured passport size photograph with dimensions 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm of size 50 kb in JPEG format.
  • A copy of the signature of the candidate either in blue or black ink. The size of the document should be 50kb, and the format should be in JPEG format.
  • Proof for Date of Birth (Birth Certificate/Matriculation/HSC Marksheet). The document should be of 250 kb, either in a PDF format or JPG form.
  • A scanned copy of the AADHAR card either in PDF or JPG format of size 250 KB.
  • Provisional Certificate of Diploma/Degree/Post Graduate degree should be uploaded consolidated or semester wise in chronological order in a PDF form. The size of the document should be 2.5 MB
  • A copy of Community Certificate, Disability Certificate, or a Proof of Ex-Servicemen should be uploaded ina file size of 250 KB either in a PDF format or JPG.

Examination Pattern

The examination conducted is a written based examination which is of 100 marks. The paper has four sections in total. The four areas are General Knowledge, Mathematics, Computers, and Reasoning.
