AP Police Constable Physical Test is one of the mandatory stages in the selection process. AP Police Recruitment Board of Andhra conducts the recruitment drive to recruit candidates for the post of Police Constable. The selection process for AP Police Constable Recruitment consists of Prelims exam, Mains Exam, and Physical Test. Candidates who clear the Preliminary exam are eligible to appear for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Candidates must perform well in these Physical Strength exams to be eligible for the final written exam. Candidates must check the physical dimensions that are required for the recruitment exam in the notification and apply only if the requirements are met. Candidates clearing the Physical Test rounds are eligible for writing the main exam.
Candidates who clear the preliminary round are required to undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT). The measurement standards are different for male candidates and female candidates. Some relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to ST and Aboriginal Tribes categories in the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Vishakapatnam, and East and West Godavari regions.

The candidates satisfying the required physical standards will clear the PMT and will then have to appear for the PET wherein they have to perform various physical tasks. This stage is different for different constable posts.
All candidates are required to clear the 1600 meter running task within the stipulated time and they must clear the remaining two tasks at least with a minimum qualifying score. Clearing the PET is necessary for qualifying for the next round.
