West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) is responsible for recruiting candidates for government jobs in Group B and Group C posts in various Departments and Ministries across the State of West Bengal State.

There are around 465 vacancies notified under WBSSC Teacher Recruitment 2021. Under this, the recruitment is done for the posts of Assistant Teachers in Junior High and Secondary schools. The last date of the online application process for TET was on or before January 06, 2021.

WBSSC 2021: Selection Procedure

The WBSSC recruitment examination includes 3 stages. The candidates need to qualify for the Prelims, Mains and Interview process to get recruited.

Stage 1: Prelims

All the candidates who wish to write the WBSSC exam should take the screening test for Prelims. In the Prelims test, questions are asked in the objective type or multiple choice form, and students are tested based on their knowledge of Arithmetic, Reasoning, General Awareness, and English subjects.

Stage 2 Mains

The candidates who satisfy the minimum cut-off range in Prelims are eligible for Mains Round. In the Mains test, the candidates are tested based on their subject knowledge of Indian History, Economics, Culture, Polity, and International Affairs, etc

Stage 3: Interview

The candidates who qualify Mains are eligible to give the last round ie the Interview. The final list of selected candidates is published based on the marks achieved by candidates in both Mains and Interview Stage and accordingly posts are allocated.

Stage 4

  • Stage Other than the three stages of the selection procedure, certain posts require four stages of the selection procedure. The 4th stage can either be a typing test or a physical/medical test.
  • The candidates recruited into Group C and Group D posts are tested based on their typing speed within the given time frame.
  • In the Medical/Physical test, the candidates are tested based on their physical and mental strength. Therefore, the candidates should make sure that they are mentally fit before appearing for the WBSSC exam.
