UPSC Geo Scientist 2026 eligibility criteria provide details on nationality, age limit, and educational qualification of candidates. Candidates must be Indian citizens, with their age between 21 to 32 years to apply for UPSC Geo Scientist 2026. Candidates must have done a Master’s degree in their respective post of application as prescribed by UPSC. In case, a candidate fails to meet an eligibility then he/she might get disqualified at any point of the selection process.
UPSC Geo Scientist 2026 Nationality
To apply for UPSC Geo Scientist 2026, Nationality of a candidate must be either:
- A Citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (4) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Candidates declared Mains qualified and called for Interview are required to fill in their proof of educational qualifications on the portal opened by UPSC Commission. This portal will be opened for 15 days after the declaration of mains results.
Candidates are also required to update their Correspondence/Post Address, Higher Qualification, Achievement in different fields, Employment Details/Service Experience, Service Allocation, Service Preferences (if qualified for both the categories of posts).
