As per the TSPSC notification, the age limit of the candidates for most of the posts is 18 to 44 years. However, as per the government norms, the upper age is relaxed for certain reserved candidates. The age relaxation details of certain categories are as follows :
Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs 120 and application processing fee of Rs 250 in order to apply for the TSPSC Group I examination. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories are exempted from fee payment.
The candidate needs to carry certain documents given in the notification to the exam center. The examiners use these documents to verify the identification proof of the candidates during examination. TSPSC Group I Exam 2021 is divided into 3 rounds or stages. First round is Prelims. It has only one paper carrying 150 questions objective type. The second round Mains is a descriptive paper. In the Mains examination, apart from the six papers that a candidate needs to write, there is a qualifying General English paper. Basic knowledge of English is required to pass this paper. Telangana State Public Service Commission recruits candidates for gazette posts. The main criteria for the selection of candidates for various posts include skills, knowledge, conceptual understanding and abilities. Group 1 exam is of 3 phases. In the first phase, candidates are tested on their aptitude skills and the current happenings in the society. Only when the candidates qualify prelims, they are eligible to write the Mains exam. Mains stage is the most important round to clear this exam. The candidates must be well versed in the complete syllabus of the six papers that are mentioned. In the last round, candidates are tested for their personality along with the knowledge and content that they possess. Selection of the candidates depends on the marks scored in the Mains and Interview round. Prelims round is only a qualifying round.
The answer key for the first two rounds i.e. prelims and mains will be published on the official website of TSPSC. The candidates should look out for the answer key notifications after a month or 2 months after the examination date. The candidates can also raise any objections to the answers provided in the answer key by the authorities within a given grace period.
The cut off marks for TSPSC Group I exam doesn’t remain the same every year. It keeps on changing from year to year. The calculation of cut off marks is not available to the public. The procedure is known only to TSPSC exam authorities. However, cut off marks usually depend on factors like number of vacancies, number of students and difficulty of the paper. The candidates should calculate their marks based on the released answer key. If the candidate is scoring above the cut off marks, then there is a huge possibility of the candidate appearing for the next round.
The candidates can check whether they have passed or failed a particular round based on the cut off marks and the marks that they have scored in the exam. After the completion of 3 rounds, TSPSC releases the candidates score card of all the three rounds on its official website. Based on the marks scored by the candidates, a merit list will be prepared by the authorities and accordingly candidates will be allotted different posts based on their preference and marks scored.
