TNPSC Group I 2024 is the Combined Civil Services Examination I conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for 90 Group I posts, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commissioner. TNPSC Group I 2024 exam pattern had three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview. Each stage carried its own marks and question type, and only Mains and Interview marks counted toward the final merit list.

Ques: Is TNPSC Group I 2024 Mains an open book or closed book exam?

Ans: Closed book. Candidates cannot carry any book, note, or reference material into the Mains exam hall.

Ques: Can candidates choose the medium for TNPSC Group I 2024 Mains?

Ans: Yes. Apart from the Tamil Eligibility Test, the three General Studies papers can be attempted in Tamil or English.

Ques: What is the minimum qualifying mark for Paper I, the Tamil Eligibility Test, in 2024 Mains?

Ans: Candidates need at least 40 marks out of 100 in Paper I for Papers II, III and IV to be evaluated.

Ques: Does TNPSC show Mains answer sheets to candidates on request?

Ans: TNPSC does not have a public system for sharing scanned Mains answer sheets. Marks are shared only through the official result and marks memo.

Ques: Is there a limit on the number of attempts for TNPSC Group I?

Ans: No. Unlike UPSC Civil Services, TNPSC Group I does not cap the number of attempts. Candidates can appear again as long as they meet the age and eligibility rules.
