The correct answer is

Narges Mohammadi

Narges Mohammadi won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize — option 3.

The award. The Norwegian Nobel Committee gave the prize to the Iranian human-rights activist “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all”. She was in prison in Tehran at the time and could not receive it; her children accepted it on her behalf, and her Nobel lecture was smuggled out and read at the ceremony.

YearPeace Prize
2018Nadia Murad and Denis Mukwege, for work against sexual violence in war
2019Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, for peace with Eritrea
2021Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov, for defending freedom of expression
2022Ales Bialiatski, Memorial and the Center for Civil Liberties
2023Narges Mohammadi
2024Nihon Hidankyo, the Japanese organisation of atomic-bomb survivors

Every wrong option is a real Peace laureate of a nearby year, which is what makes the question demanding.

The context in Iran. The award came a year after the death of Mahsa Amini in custody in September 2022 and the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests that followed. Narges Mohammadi has campaigned for years against the death penalty and against solitary confinement, and has been imprisoned repeatedly.

About the prize. Established by the will of Alfred Nobel and first awarded in 1901, the Peace Prize is the only one of the six decided in Norway — by a committee of five appointed by the Norwegian Parliament — while the others are awarded in Sweden. Indian and India-linked laureates include Mother Teresa (1979) and Kailash Satyarthi (2014, with Malala Yousafzai).

Hence, the answer is Narges Mohammadi.
