Which book is based on discourse imparted by the Buddha to two Brahmins : Bharadvaja and Vasistha ?
Agganna Sutta
The Agganna Sutta is the 27th discourse of the Digha Nikaya in the Pali Canon. In it the Buddha speaks to two young Brahmins, Vasettha (Vasistha) and Bharadvaja, who had left their caste to become monks and were being insulted by other Brahmins for it.
The Buddha rejects the Brahmin claim of birth-based superiority and gives an account of the origin of the world and of society: as greed and disorder grew, people agreed to choose one person — the Mahasammata, the ‘Great Elect’ — to keep order in return for a share of grain. This is regarded as one of the earliest social-contract theories of kingship in Indian political thought.
The Dhammapada is an anthology of verses on ethics; the Vinaya Pitaka contains the rules of monastic discipline; and ‘The Buddha and His Dhamma’ is B. R. Ambedkar’s 20th-century work on Buddhism. None of them is this discourse to the two Brahmins.
So the book is the Agganna Sutta.
Hence, the answer is Agganna Sutta.
