Question

Direction : Study the following pie chart and answer the questions that follow :

Distribution of fresh fruit stock in a supermarket

Total stock of fresh fruits = 900 kg

Pie chart of fresh fruit stock: Grapes 40°, Apples 130°, Bananas 110°, Oranges 80°

What is the ratio of the combined weight of Apples and Oranges to the combined weight of Bananas and Grapes ?

This question was previously asked in
UPSSSC PET 2026 Question Paper (01-Nov-2026) (Shift-1)
The correct answer is

None of the above

In the pie chart the full circle of 360° stands for the total stock of 900 kg, so each degree represents \(\frac{900}{360} = 2.5\text{ kg}\). Weight of a fruit = its central angle × 2.5 kg.

Step 1 — Apples + Oranges = 325 + 200 = 525 kg (angles 130° + 80° = 210°).

Step 2 — Bananas + Grapes = 275 + 100 = 375 kg (angles 110° + 40° = 150°).

Step 3 — Ratio = \(525 : 375 = 210 : 150 = 7 : 5\). None of 7 : 4, 3 : 1, 3 : 2 or 6 : 5 equals 7 : 5, so no listed ratio is right.

None of the above option is correct.
