Glycerol and potassium salts of fatty acids

Coconut oil is a triglyceride, i.e. an ester of glycerol with fatty acids. Its hydrolysis with a base such as potassium hydroxide is saponification, which breaks the ester linkages to give glycerol and potassium salts of the fatty acids (soap). Since the base is KOH (not NaOH), the salts formed are potassium salts, so option (d) is correct.
