The correct answer is

7

The Konark Sun Temple in Odisha was built in the 13th century (c. 1250 CE) by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. It is conceived as the colossal chariot of Surya, the Sun God.

The temple is designed with 24 elaborately carved wheels and is drawn by 7 horses. The 7 horses are commonly explained as representing the 7 days of the week, while the 24 wheels are taken to represent the 24 hours (or fortnights) — together depicting the passage of time as the Sun moves across the sky.

So the numbers 5, 6 and 8 simply do not match the temple's actual sculptural plan; only 7 horses pull the chariot.

Hence, the correct answer is 7.
