Cricket’s Olympic history and future. It appeared once, at Paris in 1900, when a single match between Great Britain and France was played. It then vanished from the programme for well over a century. In October 2023 the IOC approved its return for the Los Angeles Games of 2028, in the T20 format, with six men’s and six women’s teams — along with baseball and softball, flag football, lacrosse and squash. So cricket was absent from 2024 but will be present in 2028, which is precisely the fact this question is testing.
