How to Apply Online for PGIMER 2026

PGIMER follows a single-step online registration for all its institute-level entrance exams. There is no separate Part I or Part II process. Candidates complete everything, from basic registration to fee payment, in one session on the same portal. The registration portal runs best on specific browsers that PGIMER recommends, including Edge Chromium, Mozilla Firefox (versions 94 to 112), and Google Chrome (versions 88 to 113). Using an unsupported browser can cause form errors during submission.

Follow these steps to complete PGIMER 2026 registration:

  • Step 1: Go to pgimer.edu.in and look for the application link of the specific exam (BSc Nursing, Paramedical, MSc, PhD, or other course).
  • Step 2: Click 'New Registration' and enter your name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. These details cannot be changed after registration, so double-check before submitting.
  • Step 3: A registration ID and password will be sent to your registered email and mobile. Save these safely.
  • Step 4: Log in with the registration ID and password.
  • Step 5: Fill in the application form with your personal details, educational qualifications, contact address, and other required information.
  • Step 6: Select your preferred exam centre city from the available list. PGIMER does not allow centre changes after submission.
  • Step 7: Upload your photograph, signature, and supporting documents (certificates, category proof) in the format given in the information bulletin.
  • Step 8: Pay the application fee using debit card, credit card, or net banking.
  • Step 9: Review all entered details carefully on the preview screen.
  • Step 10: Submit the form and download or print the confirmation page. Keep this printout safe for future use.

A confirmation message with the user ID will be sent to the registered email and mobile number after successful submission.

PGIMER Application Fee 2026 by Course and Category

PGIMER charges different application fees depending on the course group. The fee for BSc Nursing and Paramedical courses is lower than the fee for MD/MS and DM/MCh admissions, which go through INI-CET and INI-SS respectively. PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates do not pay any application fee across all PGIMER courses. Payment is accepted only online, and the fee is not refundable once paid.

Course GroupGeneral / OBC / EWSSC / ST
BSc Nursing and Paramedical CoursesRs 1,500Rs 1,200
MD/MS (via INI-CET) and DM/MCh (via INI-SS)Rs 4,000Rs 3,200
PhD and Other Institute TestsRs 1,500Rs 800

PwBD candidates are fully exempt from paying the fee for any PGIMER entrance exam. Payment modes accepted are net banking, debit card, and credit card.

Documents Needed for PGIMER 2026 Registration

PGIMER requires candidates to upload certain documents during the online application itself. The exact list depends on the course you are applying for. Keep scanned copies ready before starting the form, because you cannot save a half-filled application and return to it later with missing documents. Below is the general set of documents that applies across most PGIMER entrance exams.

DocumentFormat / SpecificationWhen Required

PGIMER 2026 Application Form Correction Window

PGIMER opened a short correction window from July 2 to July 4, 2026, for candidates who needed to fix errors or upload pending documents in their submitted applications. This was a one-time window with no second chance to make changes afterwards. The correction facility was meant mainly for uploading documents that were missing at the time of original submission, not for changing fundamental details.

  • Fields that could be corrected: photograph, signature, uploaded certificates, and address details.
  • Fields that could NOT be changed: name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address. PGIMER locks these at the time of initial registration.
  • Exam centre preference could not be changed after form submission.
  • No correction fee was charged for using this window.

Candidates who missed the correction window and have errors in their form should contact PGIMER's helpdesk at onlinepgiexam@gmail.com for guidance, though PGIMER does not guarantee resolution after the window closes.

PGIMER Admission Routes and How They Affect Your Application

PGIMER Chandigarh does not use a single entrance exam for all its courses. Depending on the programme you want, you may apply through completely different portals. This is something candidates often miss, especially those applying for MD or MS, where the application does not go through pgimer.edu.in at all. Understanding which route applies to your course is the first step before filling any form.

  • BSc Nursing, BSc Paramedical, MSc Nursing, MPH, PhD, MDS, and Fellowships: apply directly on pgimer.edu.in through PGIMER's own institute-level entrance exam portal.
  • MD and MS: admission is through INI-CET, conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. Apply at aiimsexams.ac.in, not at pgimer.edu.in. The application fee is Rs 4,000 (General/OBC/EWS) and Rs 3,200 (SC/ST).
  • DM and MCh (super-specialty): admission is through INI-SS, also conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. Apply at aiimsexams.ac.in.

Candidates targeting MD or MS at PGIMER should track the INI-CET schedule separately, since its registration windows, fee structure, and portal are different from PGIMER's own exam calendar.

Mistakes to Avoid While Filling PGIMER 2026 Application Form

PGIMER's application portal does not let you go back and change certain details once they are locked. The institute has also flagged specific browser compatibility issues in its official notice. Candidates who have filled the form in previous years report a few recurring problems that are easy to avoid if you know about them in advance.

  • Entering the wrong name or date of birth during registration: PGIMER locks the name, DOB, mobile number, and email at registration. If any of these are wrong, you cannot correct them later, not even during the correction window.
  • Using an unsupported browser: PGIMER specifically recommends Edge Chromium, Mozilla Firefox (versions 94 to 112), Google Chrome (versions 88 to 113), or Microsoft Edge (versions 88 to 113). Newer browser versions or Safari may cause the form to not load properly or fail at submission.
  • Uploading a photograph without name and date printed on it: PGIMER requires the candidate's name and date to be written or printed on the photograph itself. A plain passport photo without these details can lead to rejection.
  • Selecting the wrong exam centre city: you cannot change your exam centre after submitting the form. Pick a city close to your location and make sure you can travel there on the exam date.
  • Not saving the confirmation page: after submission, PGIMER sends a confirmation to your email. But candidates should also download or print the confirmation page from the portal. This printout is needed at counselling.

What Happens After Submitting PGIMER 2026 Application

Once the application is submitted and the fee is paid, PGIMER reviews the uploaded documents and images. If everything is in order, the admit card becomes available for download from pgimer.edu.in around 10 to 15 days before the exam date. Candidates who applied for BSc Nursing should expect the admit card by mid-July 2026, ahead of the July 24 exam. After the exam, PGIMER releases results as a merit list on its website, followed by offline counselling at the PGIMER Chandigarh campus.

PGIMER 2026 Application Helpdesk and Contact Details

Candidates who face technical issues during registration or payment can reach PGIMER through the helpdesk details published on the official application portal. PGIMER provides both email and phone support, though response times can vary during peak application days. If your fee was debited but the application was not confirmed, contact the helpdesk with your transaction reference number and registration ID.

  • Helpdesk Email (Technical Issues): onlinepgiexam@gmail.com
  • PGIMER Email (General Queries): aaorcpgi@gmail.com
  • Helpline Phone (Technical Support): 022-61306260

For fee-related disputes where the amount was deducted but the form did not get submitted, PGIMER typically takes 7 to 10 working days to verify the transaction. Keep a screenshot of your bank statement and the failed transaction page.

PGIMER Application Fee Refund and Payment Failure

PGIMER's application fee is non-refundable once paid, regardless of whether the candidate appears for the exam or not. However, if a payment fails midway and the amount gets debited from your bank account without the application being confirmed, the amount is usually auto-reversed within 5 to 7 business days by the payment gateway. If the reversal does not happen within that period, candidates should write to the helpdesk email with their registration ID, transaction reference number, and a bank statement showing the deduction.

PGIMER does not accept any offline payment mode for its entrance exam applications. There is no provision for fee payment through e-challan, demand draft, or cash at the application stage. The demand draft or cash payment mode applies only at the counselling stage, where admitted candidates pay the course fee in person at the PGIMER campus.

PGIMER Application Form 2026 FAQs

Ques: Can I still apply for PGIMER 2026 entrance exams after the June 30 deadline?

Ans: No. PGIMER did not announce any late-fee window or deadline extension for the 2026 cycle. Once the application window closed on June 30, no further submissions were accepted. Candidates who missed the deadline will need to wait for the next application cycle.

Ques: Does paying the PGIMER application fee guarantee that I will get an admit card?

Ans: Not automatically. PGIMER reviews each application for uploaded documents and eligibility after the fee is paid. If the uploaded photograph, signature, or certificates do not meet the prescribed specifications, the application can be rejected even after payment. The admit card is issued only after the application clears this review.

Ques: I applied for BSc Nursing at PGIMER. Can I also apply for the Paramedical entrance exam using the same registration?

Ans: No. PGIMER runs separate registrations for each entrance exam. If you want to appear for both BSc Nursing and Paramedical exams, you need to register and pay the fee separately for each one on pgimer.edu.in.

Ques: My payment was deducted but PGIMER shows my application as incomplete. What should I do?

Ans: Wait for 5 to 7 business days for the payment gateway to auto-reverse the amount. If it is not reversed, email onlinepgiexam@gmail.com with your registration ID, transaction reference number, and a bank statement screenshot. PGIMER's helpdesk typically takes 7 to 10 working days to verify and resolve such cases.

Ques: Is the PGIMER application process the same for MD/MS candidates as it is for BSc Nursing?

Ans: No. MD/MS admission at PGIMER goes through INI-CET, which is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates apply at aiimsexams.ac.in, not at pgimer.edu.in. The fee, portal, and schedule are all different. Only BSc Nursing, Paramedical, MSc, PhD, MDS, and similar courses use PGIMER's own application portal.
