Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) opened the online application for KCET 2026 on January 16, 2026. After two extensions, the last date to submit the form was February 27, 2026, and the fee deadline was March 7, 2026. The correction window remained open until March 30, 2026 and was reopened on May 14, 2026. Candidates who applied for KCET appeared in the exam from April 22 to 24, 2026, and the result was declared on June 6, 2026.

Steps to Apply for KCET 2026

KEA accepted applications only on its online portal, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The process had registration, form filling, image upload, fee payment and final submission. The facility is now closed for new applications.

1. Open the online application link for UGCET 2026 on the official website.
2. Register as a new user with the details asked on the portal. Karnataka candidates entered the STATS ID where required, and Aadhaar details were also needed.
3. Note the application number and user ID received on the registered mobile number, then create a password.
4. Log in and fill the personal, academic, reservation and contact details. Candidates in reserved categories entered the RD number from their certificate.
5. Select the courses and the exam centres.
6. Upload the scanned photograph, signature and left thumb impression in JPEG format.
7. Pay the application fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
8. Review all entries, submit the form and download the confirmation page for future use.

KCET 2026 Application Fee

KEA fixed the fee on the basis of the category and the place of study of the candidate. Candidates who studied outside Karnataka and those applying from outside India paid a higher fee.

Candidates uploaded scanned images while filling the form. Original documents were checked in person after the result.

KCET 2026 Application Correction

KEA allowed candidates to edit the submitted form through an edit link on the official website. The facility was open until March 30, 2026 and was reopened on May 14, 2026. Candidates could correct reservation claims, RD number entries and academic information.

1. Open the edit link on the official website. It is named UGCET-2026 Online Application Edit Link.
2. Log in with the registered credentials and select the sections to be changed.
3. Make the corrections and click Declare.
4. Click Final Submit. Only the final submitted data was used for eligibility and seat allotment.
5. Download or print the revised form for records.

KEA advised candidates in reserved categories to enter the RD number from a certificate that shows the reservation details. Candidates with older certificates that lacked these details were asked to obtain an updated certificate from the Tahsildar. Only candidates with the correct RD number were considered for seats in their reserved category.

KCET 2026 Exam and Result

KEA held KCET 2026 as a pen-and-paper test, with answers marked on an OMR sheet. The Kannada language test was a qualifying test for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates, and its marks were not counted in the exam score.

The main exam had separate papers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology. As per the prescribed KCET exam pattern, each paper had 60 multiple-choice questions to be attempted in 80 minutes, with one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking.

After the result, KEA called qualified candidates for document verification and counselling. KEA has not announced a schedule for KCET 2027.
