How to Join Indian Army after Engineering? Check Salary, Job Profile & Other Details

Indian Army recruits engineering graduates through four entry levels, namely, Technical Graduate Course (TGC) Entry, Combined Defence Services (CDS) Entry, Short Service Commission (SSC) - Technical Entry, and National Cadet Corps (NCC) Entry. The major Indian Army recruitment requirement is that the candidates must have completed Engineering with the mentioned passing.

The selection of candidates is done in three stages: Written Examination, SSB Interview, and Medical Examination. Only qualified candidates of the first two stages can appear for the Medical Examination.

The selected candidates for the Army Recruitment will then have to undergo the required training for 49 weeks. The training of candidates through TGC Entry will be at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, and those applied through other entries will undergo training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. The candidates recruited will be posted as Lieutenant from the date of commencement of the course and post training they will be assigned to various battalions.
