KPSC Teacher Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification for Graduate Primary Teacher for class 6 to 8 is as follows:

  • Graduate degree with minimum 50% and two-year diploma in elementary education / Bachelor in Education/ Bachelor in special education for SC/ST/ category I of OBC, 45% marks are required in graduation
  • Must have passed Teacher Eligibility Test qualified by Government of Karnataka or Government of India.

KPSC Teacher Educational Qualification for Graduate Primary Teacher (Language)

  • Studied both the concerned language and one of the following subjects as optional – Kannada/ English/ Hindi/ Marathi/ Urdu/ Telugu/ Tamil/ Malayalam/ Konkani/ Sanskrit/ History/ Economics/ Political Science/ Geography/ Sociology.
  • Scored 50% marks in concerned language and in the other subject

For Graduate Primary Teacher (Mathematics and Science)

  • Graduate who has studied mathematics, physics compulsorily for three years in the Graduate degree along with either Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Geology and Biotechnology as the third optional subject for a three-year graduate degree, or
  • Engineering graduate other than graduates in Architecture who have studied mathematics in first three/four semesters and applied mathematics in rest of the semesters
  • Must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in each of three subjects

KPSC Teacher Educational Qualification For Graduate Primary Teacher (Biological Sciences)

  • Graduates who have studied Chemistry compulsorily for three years in the graduate degree and any of the two subjects from among Botany/ Zoology/ Sericulture/ Environmental Science/ Genetics/ Mathematics for three years in the graduate degree
  • Minimum 50% of aggregate marks in each of these three subjects
