Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2026 eligibility criteria are defined based on factors like educational qualification, age limit, and nationality. Candidates must be Indian citizens who have completed the required teacher education qualifications such as D.El.Ed or B.Ed from a recognised institution. Educational requirements differ for primary (1 to 5) and secondary (6 to 8) teaching qualifications. There is no maximum age limit to apply for KARnataka TET exam. All candidates aged 18 years and above can apply if they meet the other prescribed eligibility conditions.
KARTET educational qualification is different for the roles of primary (classes 1 to 5) and secondary (classes 6 to 8) teachers. They are as follows:

KARTET age limit requires candidates to be at least 18 years old to apply for the exam. There is no upper age limit for KARnataka TET 2026, allowing candidates of any age to appear, provided they meet the required educational qualifications. Applicants can attempt the exam multiple times until they qualify.
KARTET nationality criteria require candidates to hold Indian citizenship. Applicants who are foreign nationals are not eligible to take the exam.
