Evaluation of Scores

The scores are calculated and normalized on the basis of the equi-percentile method. They are calculated up to their two-decimal points.

  • The Prelims paper contains 100 questions and the Mains paper contains 200 questions of 1 mark each.
  • For each correct answer, the candidate gets 1 mark, and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidate. There is no penalty for the questions left unanswered.
  • Thus, to evaluate the total score, the total of the negative marks is subtracted from the total score of the correct answers and the remainder is the final score.
  • The scorecard of Prelims and Mains are prepared based only on their respective marks.
  • However, the final result is prepared considering both the scores of Mains and the Personal Interview.
  • In all the cases, the candidates have to score more than the cut-off to get selected for the next round.
