Gujarat TET Eligibility 2026 outlines the criteria set by Gujarat State exam Board (GSEB) that candidates must meet to apply for teaching positions in Gujarat government schools. These include nationality, age limit, domicile, number of attempts, and educational qualification. Candidates must be a minimum age of 18 years, and the upper age relaxed as per Government norms. Gujarat TET Nationality 2026

Candidates must be Indian citizens to be eligible to apply for Gujarat TET 2026. Only candidates holding a valid Indian nationality can apply for the exam. Applicants may also need to provide supporting proof of nationality, such as an Aadhaar card or other government-issued identity documents, during the verification process.

Gujarat TET Age Limit 2026

Gujarat TET Educational Qualification 2026

Gujarat TET requires candidates with specific educational qualifications to apply. Its education qualification is divided into two categories TET 1 (Class 1 to 5) and TET 2 (Class 6 to 8).

Educational Qualification for Gujarat Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5):

Gujarat Paper 1 (primary level) requires candidates to have any of the following educational qualifications:

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed in accordance with NCTE regulations.
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduated with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Educational Qualification for Gujarat Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8):

Candidates applying for Gujarat Paper 2 (secondary level) must have any of the following educational qualifications:

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year B.Ed., as per NCTE norms.
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor's in Elementary Education (B.El Ed).
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

After successfully qualifying for Gujarat TET, candidates receive an eligibility certificate issued by GSEB. With this certificate, candidates can apply for teaching positions in government, grant-in-aid, and private schools that recognize TET qualification.
