CUET 2026 Key Exam Details

CUET 2026 was a fully computer based test, with each subject paper of 50 questions in 60 minutes. A candidate could take up to 5 subjects from the 37 on offer, and each subject carried 250 marks. The table below lists the conducting body, mode, dates and paper details.

CUET 2026 Marking Scheme

CUET 2026 marking was the same for every subject, so accuracy mattered across all papers. A correct answer added 5 marks and a wrong answer lost 1 mark, while an unattempted question scored zero. With 50 questions, each subject was worth up to 250 marks.

CUET 2026 Answer Key and Score Calculation

CUET 2026 answer key helps you calculate your score before the result. NTA released the provisional answer key and response sheet on 9 June 2026, with an objection window that closed on 11 June, and the final answer key on 21 June 2026. Follow the steps below to check your CUET 2026 score.

• Download your response sheet and match each answer with the final CUET 2026 answer key.
• Add 5 marks for a correct answer, deduct 1 for a wrong answer, and give zero for an unattempted question.
• To raise an objection, pay Rs. 200 per question with supporting proof from NCERT or a credible source.

For example, in a subject with 42 correct, 6 wrong and 2 unattempted questions, the score is 210 minus 6, which is 204 out of 250.

CUET 2026 Languages and Domain Subjects

CUET 2026 offered 37 subjects in all, and you chose up to 5 that matched your course. The 13 languages sit in Section IA and the 23 domain subjects in Section II, with a single General Test in Section III. The main subjects are listed below.

• Section IA languages (13): English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Urdu.
• Section II domain subjects (Some): Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Psychology and Computer Science.
• Section III: a single General Test paper for programmes with no specific domain requirement.

CUET 2026 Good Score

CUET 2026 good score depends on the subject, the university and the category, so there is no single fixed cutoff. Universities compare normalised percentile scores, so a high percentile in each subject matters more than the raw total alone. The points below give a rough idea from past trends.

• A total around 875 out of 1250 across five subjects is generally seen as a good score.
• Top programmes at central universities such as Delhi University usually need higher.
• Cutoffs change each year with difficulty and demand, so treat past figures as a guide only.

CUET 2026 scores are used by around 300 universities, including central, state, deemed and private institutions. Each university runs its own admission and counselling, so cutoffs and steps differ, and Delhi University, for example, uses the CSAS portal. Some major participating universities are listed below.
